Two fur traders clash at the rendezvous of the Darkwood trappers, the honest Carpenter and the scoundrel Bridge. They discover that a merchant from Harrisburg has urgent need of a large load of furs: which of the two will reach the merchant first, navigating along the Susquehanna River?
