About BonelliVerse

A non-commercial, volunteer-run archive dedicated to cataloging the complete publishing history of Sergio Bonelli Editore a digital museum for one of Italy's most important comic book traditions.

Who we are

BonelliVerse is a small group of lifelong readers and collectors. We are not publishers, distributors, or rights holders just enthusiasts who grew up with Tex, Dylan Dog, Zagor, Mister No, Martin Mystère, Nathan Never, and the dozens of other characters that have defined Italian popular culture for more than seventy years.

We have no offices, no staff, and no commercial interest in this project. We do this in our free time, because we believe it is worth doing.

Our mission

To build a comprehensive, openly accessible catalog of every Bonelli publication: every issue, every story, every writer and artist, every series, every spin-off and crossover from the earliest releases of the 1940s to the latest issues on newsstands today.

Italian comic books represent a unique and influential strand of 20th-century popular culture. Tracking who created what, when, and how it all interconnects is the kind of long, patient work that does not happen unless someone takes it on. We have decided to be those people, before the institutional memory fades and the data becomes harder to recover.

What BonelliVerse is and what it is not

BonelliVerse is:

  • A bibliographic index: titles, issue numbers, release dates, creator credits, series relationships, character appearances.
  • A research tool: search and cross-reference the complete catalog by series, author, artist, character, or event.
  • A digital museum: a permanent, freely accessible record of a publishing tradition that deserves to be remembered in full.

BonelliVerse is not:

  • A commercial enterprise. We do not sell anything, we accept no donations, and we run no advertising.
  • A scanlation, piracy, or download site. We do not host comic book pages, scans, scripts, or reproductions of copyrighted artwork.
  • Affiliated with Sergio Bonelli Editore. We are an independent fan project and claim no official endorsement.

A note on copyright

The bibliographic data presented here (titles, dates, credits, issue numbers, relationships between works) is factual information, gathered from publicly available sources and presented for cataloging, research, and educational purposes. Where cover thumbnails or short identifying excerpts appear, they are used in good faith for the purpose of identification and reference the same standard followed by libraries, public bibliographic services, and comic book databases worldwide.

If you are a rights holder and have a concern about any specific item on this site, please write to us. We are committed to working respectfully with publishers and creators, and we will remove, modify, or attribute any material on reasonable request.
