Cico sull'isola del tesoro

Chico lets Digging Bill involve him in a new treasure hunt (which has a predictably catastrophic result…). And while the two wretches head for “glory and riches”, the Mexican tells about when, years earlier, he was searching for the treasure of the pirate, Black Mustache, and in order to find it (only to immediately lose it again!), he’d had to face ferocious criminals, arteriosclerotic shipwrecked people and savage Indians!

Although published later, this story serves as a chronological interlude within the broader saga. It takes place in Darkwood before the events of L’esploratore scomparso and the Second American Odyssey, during the period when Zagor and Chico were still in their homeland, prior to setting off on their epic journey across North America.

A note in this issue even clarifies the timeline: Digging Bill had not yet been to the Wichita Mountains.
