Cico detective

Giving himself out to be Detective Galindez, Chico arrives at the gloomy Hump Castle. There he meets an old friend of his, the clumsy investigator, Bat Batterton, who investigates the monstrous apparitions that take place there. It seems that the ghost of Victor Hump, ancestor of the present owner, Lord Clarence, wanders around the hallways during the night. But there is an explanation for the mystery and it is Chico who finds it…

This story is set before the events of the Second American Odyssey and "L’esploratore scomparso", even though it was published afterward. It takes place in Darkwood during a period when Zagor and Chico had not yet left for their long journey across North America, making it a chronological interlude within the broader saga.
