The vengeful Navajo sorcerer Yanado, with a false omen, makes the rebel Swift Bear believe that he will kill Night Eagle and destroy the "blue jackets". The rebels thus begin to massacre the settlers and the army becomes active. Tex rushes to Fort Defiance to avoid an Indian war, but is arrested by Major Wellman, an enemy of the Red Indians. An enormous flood of the Puerco River overwhelms the stagecoach carrying Tex to Holbrook prison, and the Ranger miraculously saves himself! Meanwhile, a military column moves towards the central village of the Navajo reservation... Carson and Kit Willer look for Tex, refusing to believe him dead in the flood of the Puerco River. And in fact the pard is safe, on the ranch of the widow Sydor, whose husband had been killed days earlier by the Fast Bear rebels. Having eliminated Dancing Jackal, one of the leaders of the revolt who had shown up at the farm to complete the extermination, in a duel, Tex learns that it is the merchant Overend who is arming the Navajos. And while Piccolo Falco and Carson go to Gallup to catch the trafficker, Tex returns to the reserve to punish the infamous sorcerer Yanado! The arms dealer Overend who, in order to sell his rifles, stoked the rebellion of the Navajos of Quick Bear by bribing the sorcerer Yanado, tries to reach an agreement with Major Wellman of Fort Defiance, who intends to wipe out the Indians from the reservation in order to grab their gold deposits. But Carson and Kit Willer intervene, ruining their plans.
