Joined in Dawson by Jim Brandon, Tiger Jack and Kit Willer, Tex and Gros-Jean break up the bear tracks band. The only survivor, its leader Brad Burley, ends up in hell on the ship that is transporting the diggers gold to Vancouver: during the journey, he tries in vain to avenge himself on Tex, who is on board. 

Years later, Little Hawk has grown up and, now very skilled with a gun and a knife, can get into action with his father and Kit Carson: thwarting a plot against the Railway Company hatched by Black Sam and the Hooded Band.

Arriving in the town of Dawson, they find out that the area is being terrorised by mysterious robbers who leave behind only bear tracks in the snow.
