Delaware!

The Ward brothers, along with whiskey smuggler Willie Drink, hide the loot from several robberies deep in Delaware Indian territory in the cursed ruins of Fort Gallows. But the group is betrayed by a ruthless accomplice, Red Archer, who kills the Wards. Willie manages to escape with the gold.

Years later, Zagor and Chico save Willie from Double Knife, a Delaware warrior trying to overthrow the peaceful chief, Red Thunder. Zagor promises to hand Willie over to the military to prevent a lynching. But Red Archer and Sarita, former accomplices turned traitors are hunting Willie down to get the gold for themselves. They capture him, unaware that Double Knife is secretly following them. Zagor intervenes, frees Willie, and captures the two outlaws.

But fate has more in store among the haunted ruins of Fort Gallows.

As they confront Double Knife’s savage warriors, an even darker presence reveals itself, Bloody Jim, the fort’s mysterious inhabitant. Believed by the Delawares to be Tawiskara, the Spirit of Evil, he turns out to be none other than Big George Ward, long thought dead, now completely insane.

Double Knife and his rebels are crushed by Zagor and the timely arrival of Red Thunder. Sarita and Red Archer are slain by Bloody Jim, who dies shortly after. As for the cursed treasure, buried deep in the fort’s well it remains forever lost to time.
