Martin Mystere

Martin Mystère — professor, archaeologist, anthropologist, and self-styled "Detective of the Impossible" — lives in a Greenwich Village apartment filled floor to ceiling with books, artifacts, and the accumulated mysteries of a lifetime. When conventional science reaches its limits, Martin is the man people call. With his Neanderthal companion Java — a living relic of prehistory rescued from an underground civilization — and his connections to the shadowy organization known as "Altrove" (Elsewhere), Martin investigates the world's greatest enigmas: lost civilizations, ancient technology, paranormal phenomena, and the hidden connections between the past and present. His enemies include the shadowy Men in Black, who work to keep humanity ignorant of its own true history. Created by Alfredo Castelli and published monthly since 1982, Martin Mystère is a unique creation that blends archaeology, conspiracy theory, and genuine mystery into an intellectual adventure series unlike anything else in comics.
