Intrigue in Washington! Tex and Carson, on the trail of the conspirators who want presidential candidate Hayes dead, escape from the ship that was supposed to sink with them locked in the hold. The first to pay are Sam Winter and the Irish Gymnasium gang; then it's up to the Judas who was holed up in Ely Parker's office. The leader of the plot - a senator - is properly beaten and the killer tasked with taking out Hayes falls from a building, ballasted with lead. Some time later, Tex and Tiger Jack deliver a wanted man to Virginia City...
