The pincer maneuver succeeds: the pards catch the Pueblito massacres and free the two Indian hostages who were supposed to lead the carrion to the Colorado gold. Of that river, the bandits only see the boiling waters: by order of Night Eagle, they are left at the mercy of the waves on a thin canoe... and without paddles! Some time later, finding himself with his dead horse following a conflict with three Apache raiders, Tex gets on the stagecoach for Tombstone; but at the Dry Creek trading post the passengers come across a quartet of thugs, stationed there to rob a shipment of silver.
