Having tracked down the Mexican who in the meantime had fallen into an ambush, he learns that Mexican president Manoel Perez has fallen, and Montales has been locked up in a prison. Tex will have to cross half of Mexico, to find his old partner Drigo , and finally free Montales.

Tex is sent to investigate the escape of Navajos and Blackfoot Indians from the reservates, and an alleged arms trafficking in the area. It is here that, captured by the Navajos, he meets and marries Lilith. Tex runs from side to side in this long adventure. He manages to put a stop to the Indian revolt, promising that in return he will enforce the white man's commitments. And he will do it by hitting Bessie's gang hard, helped by Carson.
