Terra del fuoco

Continuing their long journey, Zagor and Chico arrive in Punta Arenas, the last port in South America, on the Strait of Magellan. There, the Spirit with the Hatchet manages for a few moments to cross paths with that of the traitor Dexter Green, the archaeologist on whose trail he has gone to the southernmost reaches of the world. But when it seems that the hunt is about to end, something unexpected comes to separate the two adversaries again: from the penitentiary under construction near the town, a group of dangerous criminals manage to escape and take possession of the "Marilena", the ship with which the King of Darkwood arrived there... The dangerous criminals who escaped from the Punta Arenas prison who took possession of the "Marilena" want to head towards the Pacific crossing the Strait of Magellan, and then sail towards the North of Chile. But they have not taken into account Zagor, who manages to free himself from the cabin of the ship where he was locked up. The clash between the Spirit with the Hatchet and the bandits has unexpected consequences for everyone and the fight moves to the wild and unexplored Tierra del Fuego, where it is said that populations dedicated to cannibalism live and do not like intrusions into their territory... In Tierra del Fuego, Zagor and his sailor friends on the sailing ship "Marilena" are trying to free Hilario, captured by the Ona, the natives widely considered savages and cannibals. They come across Jemmy Button, a native who, some years before, had sailed aboard Captain Fitzroy's "Beagle". It is Jemmy himself who guides the Spirit with the Hatchet to the Ona village, where, in a cavity in the ground, the survivors of the group of escapees who escaped from the Punta Arenas prison are also kept locked up. But managing to bring the prisoners to safety will not be an easy task...
