Neve Rossa

A band of Native Americans led by the fierce Killer Axe slaughters a settler family in the Green Mountains. Zagor and Chico, following the bloody trail left by the raiders, rescue the sole survivor and bring him to the nearby town of Cherry Town. There, they witness the catastrophic arrival of their old friend, Baron Icaro La Plume, whose innovative hot-air balloon is shot down by Killer Axe’s warriors, determined to cross the mountains leaving death and destruction in their wake.

As a blizzard rages, three bloodthirsty bandits, the Studd brothers, also arrive in Cherry Town, hoping to escape Sheriff Bristol’s men by crossing the Green Mountains. They kidnap La Plume and force him to launch the balloon despite the storm. Inevitably, the airship crashes in the mountains.

Killer Axe and his warriors witness the fall and move in to attack the survivors. Meanwhile, Zagor and Bristol join forces in the search for the baron and the outlaws.

The final battle stains the snow red with blood, as the savage war band is buried beneath an avalanche triggered by Zagor himself.
