The herdsmen The herd promised by the American Government to the Osages so that they can sustain themselves during the winter within the territories assigned to them by the peace treaties, has been taken away from the Red Indians, who risk dying of starvation and who are threatening to go on the warpath. Zagor begins a race against time to recover the raided cattle and bring them back to the Indian village, having to face the criminals who have taken possession of them. To do this, in addition to Chico, the Spirit with the Hatchet can only count on the help of three herdsmen who have found no other jobs: a lame man, a black cowboy and a drunkard.
