Nick, Marvin and new recruit Tommy Coates manage to capture a dangerous fugitive. A few hours later, Tommy himself, in the company of his girlfriend, suffers an attack. The two young people are hospitalized dying; the fugitive, just captured, denies any wrongdoing. The target of the attack Nick will soon deduce was not Tommy, but his girlfriend who, during a photo reportage in Chinatown, had probably immortalized on film something that was not meant to be seen...
