From the mining base in the Artic 3 ice, news arrives on a possible use of a high-risk drug, polychloric euridal, which would cause mutations in the fauna of the area. Nathan Never, under the assumed name of Thomas Ripley, is sent to the base to investigate. The only evidence he can get his hands on is a courier who has to deliver a shipment of drugs to the base.
