Paris, 1847. The young illustrator Gustave Doré proposes to a publisher an illustrated book that narrates the labors of Hercules. But the labors of the story are not twelve, as in the legend, but thirteen. Doré has added a new adventure in which the demigod visits lost Atlantis and battles a monstrous creature! What inspired that episode for the designer? And what does it have to do with a chain of brutal crimes committed by a mysterious masked individual? Only Martin Mystère can find an answer, when murders with the same methods are repeated in modern-day New York!
