Karl Friedrich Hieronymus von Munchausen, born and lived in Germany in the 18th century, was a valiant soldier and a serious businessman, yet he owed his fame to certain fantastic stories of which he pretended to be the protagonist, which he invented to amuse his numerous friends and which were collected without his knowledge in a famous book. Flights on cannonballs, horses cut in two and stitched together with laurel branches, entire flocks of ducks shot down with a single bullet and two trips to the moon made with the most incredible means... But were they really fantasy stories? This is what Martin Mystère has to deal with, in one of his most impossible investigations.
