A mysterious light shines at night, very powerful, among the trees of the forest. The Indian hunters who bivouac nearby approach it to check and disappear into thin air. The next day, someone or something begins killing miners, trappers and soldiers caught near the appearance of the night light. Zagor and Tonka, investigating, find themselves faced with three different creatures with mysterious origins, each endowed with special powers... and guided by an old acquaintance of the Spirit with the Hatchet, thirsty for revenge! The evil Hays, a murderous trapper imprisoned in the past in an alien spaceship and ended up locked up in a penitentiary among the stars, has escaped, taking with him three fellow prisoners. Hays wants to take revenge on Zagor, while the extraterrestrial escapees who arrived with him consider the Earth a sort of hunting reserve where they can feed on human beings and carry out raids: given the limited technology of the planet, no one seems able to stop them! Zagor and Tonka, hunted in the forest, try to organize a first resistance... and find an unexpected ally.
