Sulle rive del grande fiume

Chico has been kidnapped by the Jivaros, the head-chopping Indians, and the Spirit with the Hatchet, before managing to free him, discovers the reason for the hostility of the natives: a group of explorers, led by the geographer Professor Darq and his right-hand man Santos, are looking for the sources of the Amazon River. To find them, he kidnapped the tribe's elderly medicine man. Darq claims to forcefully obtain precious information on the itinerary to follow, which the old man, considering the place that the whites want to reach as sacred, does not intend to reveal... The adventure ends with the head cutters, and Zagor and Chico immediately set off in search of the Amazons, who hope to be able to help them in their hunt for Dexter Green. As they reach the confluence of the two rivers - where, according to what they were told in the Andes, the warrior women will be able, if they want, to be found -, the Spirit with the Hatchet and his Mexican friend meet the botanist Spruce, who is in the area to study the Amazonian plant species. But, suddenly, an enemy thought dead unexpectedly returns to the fore...
