The Atlantic Timber logging company has obtained a concession to clear a vast forest area, crossed by rivers that allow the transport of logs. The company has made an agreement with the local Indian tribes, committing not to go beyond the agreed boundaries. The natives, however, repeatedly attack the loggers, claiming that trees have been cut outside the permitted area.

Rosemberg, head of Atlantic Timber, maintains that his men are suffering unjustified attacks and hires a group of mercenaries, the River Wolves, led by Captain Ford, to protect the workers.

But it is not only the natives that the loggers need to be defended from. Dangerous white men are also plotting in the shadows to spread death and make the situation unbearable.

Determined to solve the case, Zagor boards one of the company’s boats to reach the loggers’ work site…
