A family murdered, a caravan of Mormons wiped out and two enigmatic words, "Mountain Meadow", drawn by the murderer. The pards, having buried the corpses, investigate Moses Boglum, spiritual leader of the sect, in Cedar City. Tex discovers that in Mountain Meadow, following the climate of tension caused by the crossing of Utah by the settlers heading for California, a convoy of pioneers had been massacred by the Mormons. And only one - John Lee - had paid for the horrendous crime with the shooting...
