The plans for a new rifle initially rejected by the Government unleash the ire of the West Kentucky Company, which for years has prospered with supplies to the army. Major Clark Morrow, the only survivor of a patrol exterminated by the company's thugs, arrives at Fort Necessity, escorted by Tex and Tiger Jack: he had to communicate to his brother George - the lieutenant who created the weapon - that Washington had finally decided to accept his invention.
