On Tex's advice, the Blancos move to American soil. The border is also crossed by the Mexican army, which besieges Fort Wellington. The enemies are routed thanks to the Ranger, but guerrilla warfare continues to operate in the region, counting on a couple of spies: the illusionist Steve Dickart, alias Mephisto, and his sister Lily. Discovered by Tex, the two flee, placing the blame for their crime on the Ranger. Once again hunted by the Law, Willer frees El Paso from the clique of the corrupt Sheriff Benis, and meets Montales, a revolutionary fighting against the Mexican regime.
