Exploring the territories outside the Navajo reservation, Night Eagle and his pards end up, despite themselves, in the middle of a war that pits some hostile Mormons against some poor miners. The Danites, determined to send to hell all those who are not part of their beliefs, however, have come to terms without Tex. In short, the ranger and his men discover that the attacks and murders are the work of a group of hotheads who call themselves "angels of vengeance". These people, hiding their identities under black hoods, repeatedly suffered attacks from the rangers, soon ending up decimated. But, more poisonous than snakes, the vile adversaries have no scruples and, seeking revenge, go so far as to kidnap two poor women to use them as hostages...
