Tom... Little Knife... White Fang! Three names for the same pale-faced Indian chief: kidnapped as a child during an assault by the Shoshones on a stagecoach, the load of gold resulting from the robbery is today kept by him, in the disturbing temple of the Stone Totem, and he draws from it for supplies and weapons. Tex Willer, however, manages to make the proud leader bury the hatchet. Some time later, the pards, investigating the mysterious disappearances of herds, descend on Mohawk, finding the village infested by Major Farriman's henchmen!

Gilas Kid: this is the false name chosen by Tex to stir up the mud of Mohawk, a village plagued by cattle thieves. The henchmen of Major Farriman, who also has the local tin star on his payroll, try to set traps for the pards in vain: they all find themselves either in hell or with their hands mangled. And to flush out mice, what better medicine than a crackling fire? Of the Dixie, a poorly frequented saloon owned by Farriman, all that remains is a pile of burning embers.
