After a clash with with Yaska in previous story, Zagor and Cico return to Fort Henry, where they meet the large and irascible fur hunter Kirk, with whom our men leave for the North to stop a war between Indians and settlers. Along the way, however, Cico falls into a trap and ends up prisoner of mysterious pygmies led by Madar, eager to take revenge on the Spirit with the Hatchet. To free his friends, Zagor will have to defeat mysterious demons...
