The caravans heading west are victims of an evil criminal plan: the guide Sterling leads them into the hands of a ferocious band of Pawnee Indians and after having thus led them to their deaths, he robs them of all their possessions which then he splits with a wicked Dodge City merchant and the owner of the local bank. However, Tex, Kit and Carson are on his trail and after foiling his latest plan, they go to Dodge City to finish off the rest of the gang.
Starting from this adventure, Kit Carson wears the definitive version of his famous fringed leather shirt. It will remain unchanged to this day.
In this adventure Kit Willer becomes part of the Rangers.
