Frank Bishop, known as "Bogey", is a private investigator and a friend of Nick Raider. Chance has it that a small-town preacher, in the city for a convention, comes knocking on his door and asks him to find his daughter. The girl moved to New York to become a model, but she has not been heard from in some time. That very evening, someone presses a gun to Bogey's head and warns him not to take the case if he cares about his life. Clearly, something big is going on.
