La guerra dei fiori
1519, the year of Hérnan Cortés's famous expedition to Central America. Leading a few hundred "conquistadores", the Spanish hidalgo lands on the coasts of Mexico, headed towards the capital of the Aztec empire, the city of Tenochtitlan. Accompanying him are the companions that the chronicles of the time made famous: Captain Pedro de Alvarado, the chronicler Bernal Diaz del Castillo and Cortés' interpreter and lover, Dona Marina, la Malinche. The Mexica world, however, is not the one we know from history books: due to the changes caused by Lilith centuries earlier, we are in full dystopia. What Cortés will face will not be warriors armed only with wooden swords with stone blades, terrified by the sight of Spanish knights, but a mighty army with fearsome cavalry equipped with steel weapons. Lilith will also be waiting for the conquistador, as the bearer of the Triacanthus is hiding among the Spanish soldiers and she will stop at nothing to discover his identity.
