Il racconto dei cadetti

Ian is about to finish his year of specialization as an Imperial Dragoniere and, as is the tradition in Roccabruna , he decides to celebrate the event with his other cadet friends, namely Oihane , Loran and Ney. Riding their wyverns, the four boys reach the ruins of Gheravûltur , far from the Academy, to spend the night there drinking wine. The fun is interrupted by the arrival of a mighty Troll, which drives away the wyverns and attacks the boys. Loran is immediately killed by the monster's fury, Oihane and Ian are captured and taken by the Troll inside the ruins, where he has created his lair. Despite the desperate situation, Ian and Oihane, with the help of Ney who survived, finally manage to escape and kill the Troll, exposing him to sunlight, which petrifies him. In Loran's memory, the three survivors leave their cadet feathers at the scene.
