Ken Parker magazine

Ken Parker N. 1/36 = From June 1992 until January 1996

Ken Parker Magazine and Parker Editore

Eight years after the closure of the Ken Parker monthly series in June 1984, and five years after the last unpublished adventure "Un alito di ghiaccio" in 1987, Ken Parker once again appears on the newsstands with the Ken Parker Magazine, a container magazine published by Parker Editore which on a monthly basis presents the new adventures of Ken accompanied by short written stories, biographies and in the appendix other comic strip stories. The two creators of the character, Giancario Berardi and Ivo Milazzo are hidden behind Parker Editore who carry out, in this editorial experience, the demanding triple role of artistic and literary directors, publishers and authors. Parker Editore's experience goes all the way at number 18 when its bought by Sergio Bonelli Editore.

Ken Parker Magazine by Bonelli

From the double issue 19-20, released 4 months after the previous one, the character returns again to its original publisher, Sergio Bonelli, who takes over the masthead, by now in evident sales and editorial organization trouble, as confirmed by Berardi and Milazzo in the introductory letter of the same register: «It is difficult, almost impossible, to carry out at the same time the role of authors, publishers, directors, editors, coordinators, accountants, graphic designers, paginators, proofreaders, advertisers, stand operators, porters.. Difficult even with the contribution of so many good collaborators who have supported us over the years».

The change of publisher brings a renewed graphic look to the magazine, an increase in the foliation and a significant restructuring of the internal columns and of the comic stories presented in the appendix. To boost the magazine's sales, the comic stories in the appendix are often dedicated to the most popular characters of the Milanese publishing house: Dylan Dog, Martin Mystere, Mister No, Nick Raider and Tex. Despite the excellent quality level achieved by the magazine, the monthly closed with the number 36, after just 5 years of existence.
