Mister No
Jerry Drake is a former American fighter pilot who has turned his back on civilization. Living in a rundown apartment in Manaus, Brazil, in the heart of the Amazon, he earns a precarious living as a bush pilot and river guide — and spends most of what he earns on rum and bad decisions. His friends call him Mister No, because "no" is his answer to anything that smells of authority, convention, or common sense. Despite his self-destructive tendencies, Jerry is a man of deep moral convictions who cannot walk away from injustice. His adventures take him through the jungles of South America, across the Caribbean, and into conflicts involving treasure hunters, drug runners, corrupt officials, and the indigenous peoples whose land is under constant threat. Created by Sergio Bonelli himself (under the pen name Guido Nolitta) and published from 1975 to 2005, Mister No is perhaps the most personal of all Bonelli creations — an anticonformist hero for an anticonformist publisher, and one of Italian comics' most enduring and beloved characters.
