Il Giustiziere Mascherato

The extraordinary figure of Lone Ranger, a myth of American comics, certainly inspired the creators of "The Enforcer of the West", a knight who had inherited not only courage and strength from his famous overseas colleague, but also the black mask and the Indian pard, Penna d'Aquila, accompanied by the faithful dog Lampo.

Il Giustiziere Mascherato, initially known as Il Giustiziere del West was created by G.L. Bonelli for "Il Cow Boy" magazine by Edizioni De Leo. Its first appearance was on N. 3 (26.08.1945). There where 4 episodes published in that magazine:

  • “Il giustiziere del west” (Saccarello) from N. 3 (26.08.45) to N. 14 (11.11.45)
  • “Il tesoro degli Arawcari” (K. Epary) from N. 15 (18.11.45) to N. 22 (06.01.46)
  • “Il fantasma nero” (De Leo/Parretti) from N. 23 (13.01.46) to N. 29 (03.03.46)
  • “Il Giustiziere del west” (Scudellari) from N. 51 (04.08.46) to N. 63 (28.11.46)
