With the bankruptcy of the IDEA publishing house, the destinies of Dante Daini and Gian Luigi Bonelli, (even if they remained friends), split.
Bonelli, decides to keep the magazine now in ruins, and after two weeks of technical stoppage, manages to return (not without difficulty) to the newsstands.
On January 18, 1941, AUDACE N ° 331 was released. Its formula is completely renewed.
Now the newspaper has turned into "albogiornale", or something in between, where a single character has a dominant role and then there are other series around it ...
The cover is no longer a comic story, but a single big one image that summarizes a part of the story inside.
Bonelli chooses to focus mainly on Furio Almirante (already present in previous issues).

This first issue, despite being the 331 of AUDACE, is in fact the absolute number ONE for the publishing house "Redazione Audace", which in fact gives way to the Bonelli empire that we all know.
N. 331 is probably the key number in the series, and almost certainly one of the rarest pre-war pieces because its edition was in fact a test for the new journal configuration. Probable circulation was 3500-5000 copies in total.

X1 il pugilatore misterioso was a name of the comic book that started in Audace IDEA N. 325 and it featured Furio as a character. This continued for 6 numbers, 1 page each, until Audace IDEA bankrupted. In this number Furio story continues with new tables.

Furio Almirante who emigrated with his parents to the United States in 1920, by working hard has been able to purchase a farm in a woody region of Missouri and leads a quiet life, when suddenly a letter arrives from Milano from his causing Mario Almirante notifying him he is coming to New York for a boxing match. Furio goes to New York to met him and there he will be dragged into a boxing match and a fight against Black circle band.

In Audace N. 325 "X1 Il Pugilatore Misterioso" makes his debut or Furio Almirante which will become an incredible success for Bonelli.

Furio's first story begins in Audace I.D.E.A. N. 325 where he makes his appearance under the name of "X1 the mysterious boxer" and runs in instalments of 1 table up to N. 331. In N. 331 when Bonelli took over the Audace, he understood better than others that the future is in the register format and that newspapers have now had their day. Therefore he continues with Furio as a main story with 8 tables per number.

Furio Almirante will become an incredible success for Bonelli and will appear on all subsequent Audace issues in the series except N. 393bis, 394bis, 395, 402 - 413, 416, 418 - 419 / 421, 423 - 426, 433, 443 and 464 - 467.
