His first contact with the inhabitants of Oroville is not the best, but with time (and the help of Ken, Duke, Joan Shaw and the anthropologist Claude Hoerner) Ishi will be able to be accepted into the world of saltu (white men), without being forced to forget his cultural heritage...

The series ends with this issue. Given that the story is apparently presented as one of retrospective stories that Ken began writing on behalf of the New York publisher Ned Buntline, Berardi would therefore seem to abandon his character in the prison of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and effectively end the continuity of the series with an unappealable life sentence...
