Max Bradley is found dead on the construction site of Garden City's ambitious Magnificent Building. What at first might have appeared as a "white death", however, does not seem to be due to a fatality. A button was found in the corpse's fist, perhaps detached from the jacket of a possible attacker. Bradley, director of works on the new building, had made quite a few enemies during his career, he was covered in gambling debts and, perhaps, someone wanted to give him a forced "early retirement"...
