Attica

Attica is a gleaming, modern city — beautiful, prosperous, and surrounded by impenetrable walls. Its citizens live in apparent paradise, but beneath the surface lies a carefully constructed illusion. Five teenagers, each gifted with strange and inexplicable powers, begin to see through the cracks. United by their abilities and their refusal to accept the world as it appears, the five young protagonists set out to tear down the walls — both physical and ideological — that imprison their city. Their rebellion is as much about discovering the truth as it is about fighting for freedom. Written and drawn by Giacomo Bevilacqua for Bonelli's Audace label, Attica was the publisher's first manga-format series. Its six issues, published from 2019 to 2020, won the award for best serial comic at Lucca Comics & Games 2020.
