This time, terror comes from the East! A series of mysterious murders has left many dead, victims of silent killers from India who strike using a strange yellow-and-white scarf. David Lean, the latest client of Bat Batterton, reveals to Zagor and Chico that these are members of the infamous Thugs, the deadly cult of Kali, goddess of death and destruction.

Zagor sets out to stop the fanatical stranglers, only to discover that not even the seemingly respectable David Lean is without guilt…

Now, since it seems rather unlikely that after traveling across half of America to return to Darkwood and facing Sam Fletcher and Na-Pawa, Zagor and Chico would immediately, and without any narrative transition, embark on another long journey, I strongly suspect that this adventure was originally written to appear before the story Gli evasi, but due to editorial decisions, was published later. Unfortunately, the script was not updated to remove the references to Zagor and Chico’s long return trip…

Fourth story to have been produced and published only in the Collana Zenith series.
