The Cheraw tribe is plagued by mysterious creatures that feast on human flesh. Joining a hunting party to track down the beast, Zagor discovers the killers are two tigers that escaped from the estate of Sir Harry Kellog, a wealthy landowner who had lived for years in India before settling in America. But even after the tigers are killed, the brutal slayings of the natives continue…

Zagor eventually uncovers the terrible truth at Kellog’s manor: the real killer is not an animal it’s Wilfred Kellog, Harry’s younger brother. Years earlier, Wilfred had slain one of the sacred white tigers of Rajah Kubal Singh, and was cursed by the Indian witch Dharma, transformed into a monstrous creature with the head of a feline.

In a desperate attempt to reverse the curse, Sir Harry plans to transplant the organs of a young native into Wilfred’s body to restore his humanity. But the surgery never happens Wilfred breaks free and flees into the night, pursued by Zagor and Chico. In the tragic end, Harry himself puts an end to his brother’s suffering by killing him… and then takes his own life.
