Holed up in Amarillo to enjoy the fruits of numerous robberies, the members of the new Red Hand are put in danger by one of their own associates, the sinister Stillman, the murderer of Mac Lean (the Pinkerton detective who followed the gang's trail). The killer harbors, for secret reasons, a personal hatred towards Tex and lures him into town to eliminate him. Stillman fails and his accomplices, blaming him for having caused a great hornet's nest, inflict a solemn punishment based on whippings. The secret association, led by an unknown First Brother, now has no choice but to try to get rid of the pards!
