Under the false name of Ted Hawkins, Tex enlists as an escort to the silver transports of Central Mining, and in a short time liquidates the fierce gang of raiders who regularly attacked the mining company's wagons: a clique that hid behind the respectable facade of the Rigby Ranch. And in a saloon, the scene of the final duel with the gang leader, Tex finds unexpected help in an elderly dancer.

Having lost their supplies of weapons and been left without horses following the incursions of the pards, the Utes and the Hualpai rebels - now trapped - are routed by the Cavalry: Yellow Dog, who wanted to exterminate the Navajos and remove the scalp of Eagle of the Night, is defeated in a duel, shaved clean and then abandoned in the middle of the desert. Some time later, having arrived incognito in Elk City in southern Oklahoma, Tex discovers that the whiskey sold by traffickers - accomplices of the cattle rustlers - has brutalized the local Indians, fueling a climate of tension.
