At the end of the mission, the rangers receive two lustrous medals which they immediately give to Negrito, thus fulfilling a dream of the young Apache! Some time later, in Arizona, the pards help the escape of a poor man who is being hunted by a patrol of volunteers determined to hang him. This is the miner Rick Sander, attacked and then framed with a false accusation of murder by a city clique headed by the banker Mart Holmer and his henchman Sam Spring: the gang's aim is to remove all the gold seekers - alive or dead - from Redrock to grab the mining concessions.
