Tucson is in the hands of a criminal organization which includes the cream of the city: the shady merchant Mark Winter; Fred Stone, saloon owner; Herald editor John Stark; Mayor Brockman and Al Borman, who sells mining leases. A clique of scoundrels, whose main aim is to foment an Apache revolt: decimated by the blue soldiers, the surviving Indians would be driven back into the reserves, freeing up immense territories ready for greedy speculation. But they didn't reckon with Tex! Mark Winter, boss of the Tucson criminal cartel, is tired of hearing that the thugs he hired died from lead indigestion or were beaten bloody by Tex and Carson! But there is nothing to be done: dark times are ahead for him. Now the rangers' war against his organization has come to a head! After having softened many pumpkins in the city, the pards move to more open scenarios and, with the help of the Chiricahuas of Cochise, get rid of the arms dealers under Winter's orders, against whom their own former Apache accomplices are incited. With cheap weapons and poorly made whiskey, the scoundrels of Tucson intended to incite the Indians and then have them exterminated by the army: a well-thought-out plan... but the four pards oppose them once again! After having incinerated the clandestine distillery of Arroyo Hondo, the rangers turn to Ely Parker, the Commissioner for Indian Affairs of Washington, obtaining carte blanche to write the gang's epitaph. But Winter and Stone, the leaders of the shady organization, will never make it to the gallows: their escape will, in fact, lead them to encounter a band of Apache warriors, thus finding a horrible death!
