The young Apache Santos, enlisted in the ranks of the blue jackets, kills General Leland with a rifle shot while he is reviewing the troops at Fort Defiance. Investigating the reasons for this extreme gesture, Tex finds himself going back in memory and telling the young Kit about the times in which Natay, Santos' father, was better known as the "Rabid Wolf" and terrorized southern Arizona with his raids... Tex continues the dramatic story of Natay, the Apache who twenty years earlier had become a rebel, fighting against the army and keeping it in check for months. In an attempt to cover his tracks, Natay flees north, together with his wife Huana and little Santos. But the caves hidden by the snow will not constitute a sufficient hiding place from the inexorable Major Leland...
