Professor Lovestock, an English researcher who came to the southwestern United States to study pre-Columbian civilizations, meets Link Miller, a man who a few months earlier had fortunately discovered an abandoned pueblo in a hidden valley. Lovestock is convinced that the necklace that Miller unearthed in that place belongs to the ancient disappeared Anasazi people and decides to prepare an archaeological expedition. During the journey, however, the men of the expedition clash with young Hopi Indians who do not take kindly to white men trampling on the tombs of their people's ancestors. The ambitious warrior Tumak is determined to carry out a massacre to reclaim the sacredness of the place and the rights of its people.
