In Yucatan, the archaeologist Sir James Sanders, a madman who believes himself to be the revived god Kukulkán, has locked up the wise priest Uaxán and is waiting for the Moctezuma's shipment of weapons to lead the Mayan people to revolt! His accomplices, including the sinister Bagley, support him in order to grab the gold artefacts fished out by the natives in a cenote. Tex, Carson and the Morisco enter the jungle to thwart the crazy plan and free Uaxán. But Willer, having rescued an Indian who was about to be crushed by an anaconda in the deep sacrificial pit, is captured!

Kit recovers his memory, kills the vile Black Hawk in a duel, while Fiore di Luna, just to save his beloved Little Hawk, dies intercepting the bullet of the sinister Gentry, whose bill will still be paid. Some time later, while investigating arms smuggling in Matamoros, Tex and Carson receive a scroll for El Morisco and find a clue that leads to the Moctezuma ship. They try in vain to search it, but the ship sets sail with its load of weapons: the corrupt port commissioner, in cahoots with the trafficker Johnny Butler, still ends up in hell with his accomplice!
