Some time later, in Tulac, two deserter soldiers are killed before the eyes of Tex and Tiger Jack by a couple of ruthless thugs...

Having freed Linda and Gros-Jean from the White Horse trading post, the pards go up the Porcupine River to grab Al Coxey, who is headed with his men to the goldfield in the cone of an extinct volcano. But this time it is Nature who delivers justice: the dynamite used by the thugs to extract the nuggets awakens the sleeping mountain and the scoundrels die overwhelmed by a frightening eruption! Some time later, Tex and Carson are in Boston to hunt down Wayneka, a rebel Navajo who has come to the city to buy a batch of rifles from Europe and destined for a secessionist Mexican general!
