After discovering that the suicide of Bilding (one of the exterminators of the Pawnee) is a blatant fabrication, the pards find a letter from the deceased which reveals all the background to the massacre, also naming the killers of Nachite and Cut Lip. The widow of Nachite does justice to the mind of every misdeed! Some time later, in Topeka, Tex and Carson join Sheriff Stoddard who has imprisoned one of Jack Torrey's henchmen, a local lord who has plunged the city into terror by blackmailing honest traders.

Some time later, Nachite and his cousin Labbro Tagliato take the train to reach their friend Tex in Canon City, forced to travel on the freight wagon! The wagon containing the two Indians is thus detached by some scoundrels and crashes into a ravine!
