In search of useful information to foil the plot against the President, Tex and Carson publish a photo of the body of one of the assassins of Pinkerton's men in the "Santa Fe Journal". The conspirators thus make the pards believe that the head of state will have to be blown up on a railway bridge. But when the Commissioner of Indian Affairs Ely Parker invites the rangers to join the presidential procession and tells them about the discovery of the body of a war hero, Tex senses the truth and knocks out the President's real killer! Now the conspirators must disappear, eliminating all evidence of the crime.

Tex and Carson arrive too late to save two Pinkerton agents from the hands of their killers, who also try to shut the mouths of the two rangers, but they roll into hell! In Washington there is a plot to kill the President of the United States and the murdered detectives knew too much. Contacted by the Santa Fe Journal, the pards arrive in the city and, after having defended the war-blind Captain Grady, they speak with the reporter Martin London, spied on by the editor of the newspaper, one of the conspirators like many other local big shots!
